We are quite excited about the STC Israel Forums and what they can offer
you. They have been set up to provide services that other mailing lists
cannot provide. For example:
- No
topic discussion is limited. Each topic has its own thread and unless
the topic turns to a flame or changes focus - it will not be limited.
- Members
can freely post their CVs on the forums. Once they are added to
a usergroup - they have full privileges to post
- Certain
Forums are visible ONLY to STC Members. For example, the STC Business
forum will contain the minutes of AC and other committee meetings, and
be a place where you can freely discuss STC business with others.
- UNLIMITED
discussion about events, etc. and the ability to arrange car pools and
anything else people want
- A section
for humor. No one will get kicked off for wanting to share a joke!
- Easy posting
of your help wanted ads. Simply register and post to the Now Hiring
forum. We only ask that you delete your post once the position has been
filled.
- MINIMAL
moderation. Since moderators can delete a posting, all we have to
do is delete inappropriate posts and personally ask the sender to submit
more appropriate posts. (Banning will be an extreme option only)
- Email
dependent registration - no premoderation. Registration is dependent
upon the user responding to an email sent to them to activate their
account. Thus, spam registrations won't work since the email can't enter
a fake mailbox.
- No
harvesting of your email for inappropriate use by others
- UNLIMITED
POSTINGS in special forums for companies that offer a minimum 10-15%
discount to members - Companies can advertise 10 times a month if
they want - in the Courses & Seminars forum. People can peruse specials
and all the company has to do to reach the general public is offer a
discount to STC members.
This is just
a brief list of what the forums can offer. But they require your ACTIVE
participation.
What does that mean? Simply go to http://www.stc-israel.org.il/STCI,
and REGISTER to join the forum. (When selecting a user name, please give
a name that makes it easy to identify yourself, preferably your first
and last name - this will make it easier for us to approve your application
to join the STC Members usergroup.) Then begin by posting emails to get
discussions started.
For more details, such as how to post your CV, see our FAQ.
Once you join the forums, there is a special userguide (FAQ
link on the forums page) that provides more information on all the
features available to you.
Please take a close look around our new forums, try out all the options
available to you, and let us know what you think!
